# Animation

This article demonstrates how to create simple animations and manage their sequence using **Aspose.Slides for Python via Java**.

Install the package as described in [Installation](/slides/python-java/installation/). Each example imports `asposeslides` before starting the JVM, then imports the API after the JVM is running.

## **Add an Animation**

Create a rectangle shape and apply a fade effect triggered on click.

```python
import jpype
import asposeslides

if not jpype.isJVMStarted():
    jpype.startJVM()

from asposeslides.api import EffectSubtype, EffectTriggerType, EffectType, Presentation, ShapeType

presentation = Presentation()
try:
    slide = presentation.getSlides().get_Item(0)

    shape = slide.getShapes().addAutoShape(ShapeType.Rectangle, 50, 50, 100, 100)

    # Apply a fade effect.
    slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence().addEffect(shape, EffectType.Fade, EffectSubtype.None_, EffectTriggerType.OnClick)
finally:
    presentation.dispose()
```

## **Access an Animation**

Retrieve the first animation effect from the slide timeline.

```python
import jpype
import asposeslides

if not jpype.isJVMStarted():
    jpype.startJVM()

from asposeslides.api import EffectSubtype, EffectTriggerType, EffectType, Presentation, ShapeType

presentation = Presentation()
try:
    slide = presentation.getSlides().get_Item(0)

    shape = slide.getShapes().addAutoShape(ShapeType.Rectangle, 50, 50, 100, 100)
    slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence().addEffect(shape, EffectType.Fade, EffectSubtype.None_, EffectTriggerType.OnClick)

    # Access the first animation effect.
    effect = slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence().get_Item(0)
    print("Effect type:", effect.getType())
finally:
    presentation.dispose()
```

## **Remove an Animation**

Remove an animation effect from the sequence.

```python
import jpype
import asposeslides

if not jpype.isJVMStarted():
    jpype.startJVM()

from asposeslides.api import EffectSubtype, EffectTriggerType, EffectType, Presentation, ShapeType

presentation = Presentation()
try:
    slide = presentation.getSlides().get_Item(0)

    shape = slide.getShapes().addAutoShape(ShapeType.Rectangle, 50, 50, 100, 100)
    effect = slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence().addEffect(shape, EffectType.Fade, EffectSubtype.None_, EffectTriggerType.OnClick)

    # Remove the effect.
    slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence().remove(effect)
finally:
    presentation.dispose()

## **Sequence Animations**

Add multiple effects and control the order in which the animations occur.

import jpype
import asposeslides

if not jpype.isJVMStarted():
    jpype.startJVM()

from asposeslides.api import EffectSubtype, EffectTriggerType, EffectType, Presentation, ShapeType

presentation = Presentation()
try:
    slide = presentation.getSlides().get_Item(0)

    shape1 = slide.getShapes().addAutoShape(ShapeType.Rectangle, 50, 50, 100, 100)
    shape2 = slide.getShapes().addAutoShape(ShapeType.Ellipse, 200, 50, 100, 100)

    sequence = slide.getTimeline().getMainSequence()
    sequence.addEffect(shape1, EffectType.Fly, EffectSubtype.Bottom, EffectTriggerType.OnClick)
    sequence.addEffect(shape2, EffectType.Fly, EffectSubtype.Bottom, EffectTriggerType.OnClick)
finally:
    presentation.dispose()
```
