Sometimes, in order to study the system better, you want to dive into the code as fast as possible. To make this easier, Aspose.3D provides different plans for purchase or offers a Free Trial and a 30-day Temporary License for evaluation.
You can easily download Aspose.3D for evaluation. The evaluation package is the same as the purchased package. The evaluation version simply becomes licensed after you add a few lines of code to apply the license.
Evaluation Version Limitation
The evaluation version provides all the features except the following:
- Users can only open/import maximum of 50 3D documents to a Scene.
- Each node can have no more than 5 child nodes.
- Each node can have no more than 2 attached entities.
- Each geometry can have no more than 2 attached vertex elements.
- Each node can have no more than 1 material.
- Users can only save a maximum of 50 3D documents to a Scene.
- Users will also see an evaluation watermark in the rendered images and all other output files.
If you’re using Aspose.3D without a proper license, there could trigger an Aspose.ThreeD.TrialException when the usage reached the unlicensed restrictions, you can turn the exception off by:
About the License
You can easily download an evaluation version of Aspose.3D for Python via .NET from its download page. The evaluation version provides absolutely the same capabilities as the licensed version of Aspose.3D. Furthermore, the evaluation version simply becomes licensed after you purchase a license and add a couple of lines of code to apply the license.
The license is a plain-text XML file that contains details such as the product name, number of developers it is licensed to, subscription expiry date, and so on. The file is digitally signed, so do not modify the file. Even an inadvertent addition of an extra line break to the contents of the file will invalidate it.
To avoid the limitations associated with the evaluation version, you need to set a license before using Aspose.3D. You are only required to set a license once per application or process.
After purchase, you need to apply the license file or stream. This section describes options of how this can be done, and also comments on some common questions.

Setting a License in Aspose.3D for Python via .NET
Licenses can be applied from various locations:
- Explicit path
- The folder containing the python script that calls Aspose.3D for Python via .NET
- As a Metered License – a new licensing mechanism
Use the set_license method to license a component.
Calling set_license multiple times is not harmful, it just wastes processor time.
In the sections below, we will describe the two common methods used to set the license.
Applying a License Using a File
The easiest method of setting a license requires you to place the license file in the same folder containing the python script that calls Aspose.3D for Python and specify just the file name without its path.
This code snippet is used to set a license file:

When calling the SetLicense method, the license name should be same as that of your license file. For example, you can change the license file name to “Aspose.3D.lic.xml”. Then, in your code, you have to pass the new license name (Aspose.3D.lic.xml) to the SetLicense method.
Applying a License from a Stream
You can load a license from a stream.
This code snippet is used to apply a license from a stream:

Apply Metered License
Aspose.3D allows developers to apply a metered key. This is a new licensing mechanism.
The new licensing mechanism will be used along with the existing licensing method. Those customers who want to be billed based on the use of API features can use the Metered Licensing.
After completing all the necessary steps to obtain this type of license, you will receive the keys, not the license file. This metered key can be applied using the Metered class specially introduced for this purpose.
